Meet Steve and Rebecca Prechtl, the new owners of the Wot A Dog Drive-In!
Steve and Rebecca are both hard working professionals. In addition to becoming new restaurant entrepreneurs, Steve has also owned and operated a successful bread route for Klosterman's since 2004, and still does! He sold and delivered bread to many businesses in the New Carlisle, Park Layne and Enon/Medway areas, which is how he came to know and love the Wot A Dog during the 10 years he sold and delivered the bread there under the previous owner Jack Heffner.
Rebecca studied Nursing at Ohio University and Hondros College of Nursing, went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree and is a Registered Nurse in the Kettering Health Network. After 6 years together, Steve and Rebecca married on October 11, 2015 and are the proud parents of 3 children, Makayla, Logan and Jaden.
Steve always wanted to own the Wot A Dog ever since it was first put on the market in 2014 and he finally got the opportunity after the 2016 season when the business closed prematurely before the summer ended and then was subsequently placed back on the market.
Steve admits it's definitely been a challenging journey however, he and Rebecca both understands how much the Wot A Dog means to the New Carlisle community who has always loved it for generations. Therefore their mission is to bring back the food, the flavor and the old school nostalgia of the iconic Drive-In Root Beer Stand the Wot A Dog was always best known for in it's heyday!
"We plan to be very active in our local community because we care about our customers and the community that has embraced us in our journey over the last several months. Thank you for your continued support and patronage. Our customers, employees, friends & family are the driving force that will allow us to sustain and grow our business we hope and pray, for many years to come."
We hope you will support us in our journey to put the Wot A Dog back on the map as one of the best family friendly Hot Dog and Root Beer stands in the State of Ohio! The Wot A Dog will officially open for the 2018 season in early March. The seasons will typically run from March till October depending on how long the warm weather sticks around, so make sure you and your family make plans to visit us!
